To remember

• Gauze dressings should be used in case of:
  1. Perspiration
  2. Exit site discharge
  3. Difficult adhesion
     
• In all other situation: use a transparent adhesive dressing

Important

To avoid air bubbles, the transparent adhesive dressing must tightly cover the exit site

Do not use transparent adhesive dressings to cover gauze swabs

Do not apply two transparent adhesive dressings on top of each other
